Howdy!
My team is working on a virtual plastic brickworld for kids called Roblox. We've got cool in-game physics that allows our users to build cool places out of bricks, and then blow them apart in battle. We've embedded Lua to allow for a huge degree of customization (our users have scripted elevators, cars, planes, soccer and capture the flag games, pong, ect ect).
Our user base is mainly kids aged 8-15. Most of them have never programmed before, but many would love to learn how to script.
Does anyone know of any good web resources for teaching Lua to people without programming experience? The docs on Lua.org are a little too dense for a 10 year old to grasp, I expect (even though a lot of our users are rather precocious). |

Telamon,
Unrelated, but after seeing your post, I showed Roblox to my 9 year old son. Now he is hooked. Spends almost all of his free time on it. He LOVES leggo and he loves computers and games, so it is a good fit. Just wanted to let you know that your site seems to target that age group quite well.
