Overview

This is an Indigo Rose plugin format plugin version of the LuaCOM library created by Vinicius Almendra and Renato Cerqueira, at TeCGraf, the Computer Graphics Technology Group of PUC-Rio (the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro in Brazil). You can see the LuaCOM Web site at http://www.tecgraf.puc-rio.br/~rcerq/luacom. This library has been ported to Indigo Rose plugin format by Brett Kapilik at Icy North Technologies. It is compatible with AutoPlay Media Sudio 5.0, Setup Factory 7.0 and TrueUpdate 2.0.

From the LuaCOM Web site:

"LuaCOM is an add-on library to the Lua language that allows Lua programs to use and implement objects that follow Microsoft's Component Object Model (COM) specification and use the ActiveX technology for property access and method calls."

Basically, LuaCOM allows you to access COM (a.k.a. ActiveX objects) objects from your projects. It also allows you to expose COM interfaces from your applications. This means that you can do things like creating and manipulating Microsoft Word documents and many other programs and technologies that expose COM interfaces.

Please note that this action plugin is not completely compliant with Indigo Rose product action plugin standards because it's functions will not show up in the IntelliSense help nor the Action Wizard. However, all functions will work as described in the documentation below.

Installation

To use this plugin, extract the contents of the LuaCOM zip file to the appropriate plugins folder used by your Indigo Rose product. For example:

• AutoPlay Media Studio 5.0 - C:\Program Files\AutoPlay Media Studio 5.0 Professional\Plugins\Actions
• Setup Factory 7.0 - C:\Program Files\Setup Factory 7.0\Includes\Plugins
• TrueUpdate 2.0 - C:\Program Files\TrueUpdate 2.0\Includes\Plugins

Licensing Information

The LuaCOM plugin is free to use in your Indigo Rose product applications. There are no licensing restrictions or fees.

Support

There is no technical support provided for this free plugin. Please do not contact me for help with this plugin as I will not provide it.
